The Central Washington University North Academic Complex is a modern academic facility designed to support a variety of teaching, learning, and student-focused functions on the CWU campus. Solarc Energy Group assisted with early design-phase energy analysis and detailed energy modeling in support of the project’s LEED Gold Certification. The building is served by CWU’s Geo Eco Plant, which provides highly efficient geothermal-based heating and cooling to campus facilities. Through an integrated high-performance design, the North Academic Complex achieved approximately 56% energy cost savings compared with the ASHRAE 90.1 baseline and earned all available points in the LEED Optimized Energy Performance category.
