Efficiency Planning, Research and Development
Leveraging our relevant experience dating to the beginning of building-focused energy efficiency programs in the United States, Solarc has periodically engaged in energy efficiency research and development projects. Solarc’s research experience includes:
- Strategic advising on efficiency program development and content
- Development of analysis tools and resources
- Energy code research efforts
- Institutional strategic planning related to energy and greenhouse gas emissions
In these activities, we have supported both large and small building owners, governmental agencies, national energy laboratories, utilities, and non-profit energy and market research and policy organizations. Recent project engagements include:
- Field research on energy code control requirements involving 25 buildings throughout the Western United States. Client: Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL)
- Secondary Glazing Energy Savings Calculator Tool: A simplified analysis tool to estimate savings associated with secondary glazing retrofits in commercial office buildings; Client: Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA)
- Strategic plan and budgeting for building-related greenhouse gas emissions reductions; client: City of Eugene, Oregon.
