Grant came to Solarc in 2014, having previously worked alongside Solarc’s energy analysts while doing design work at other firms.  Grant’s career began with working for a mechanical contractor, gaining basic knowledge of contracting and construction, and providing an extensive understanding of how designs on paper translate into constructed building systems.  Specific construction skills include pipefitting, sheetmetal, insulation, basic carpentry, plans review, and project bidding.  Grant’s construction experience evolved into professional engineering and management work which include drafting, design, construction administration, cost and schedule analysis, management of personnel and subcontracts, competitive contracting, configuration management, and advanced quality assurance management. Current consulting expertise includes design, project management, and construction management services for medical, educational and governmental equipment and facilities. This includes extensive experience applying HVAC and plumbing systems on institutional facilities including government buildings, medical care projects, cooling for data centers, and cleanroom ventilation.

 

Management experience includes extensive interpretation of government regulations affecting manufacturing and construction, including procurement regulations and Building Codes.
