ENERGY ANALYST | E.I.T.
Eric Knowles has worked at Solarc since 2013 after graduating from Willamette University with a degree in mathematics and is based in the Seattle office. During that time he has developed into one of the firms go-to energy analysts. Eric has been involved in a number of projects with a large emphasis on energy efficiency in healthcare and multi-family residences. Healthcare work has largely focused on providing documentation for utility incentives from Puget Sound Energy. Multi-family work has involved the certification of LEED and Seattle Built Green projects. Additionally, he has worked with many architects and developers to achieve energy code compliance through all three compliance paths: prescriptive, component performance, and total building performance.
Eric is also one of Solarc’s technical energy modelers. Using DOE2.2/eQuest and Energy Plus, he has worked on various energy modeling projects including hospitals, office buildings, education, and multi-family. Eric has used energy modeling to provide documentation for design assistance, HVAC loads, LEED, SEED, and energy incentives from utilities.
In addition to his work at Solarc, Eric is also the head boy's basketball coach at Charles Wright Academy in Tacoma, Washington.
